In this article, we’ll cover how you can get unbanned from Overwatch 2 by submitting a ban appeal.
It’s no secret that Blizzard made a big bet with Overwatch 2, considering that many of its features could’ve just as easily been implemented in its first installment. But, nonetheless, it’s understandable that Blizzard wanted to rebuild it with a Battle Pass systems in place, similar to Apex Legends and Fortnite.
So, with that in mind, given that OW 2 is also a very competitive game, let’s first see what can get you banned from it, as well as what you should avoid doing!
We’re here to provide you with the best support in order to get you unbanned!
Get Unbanned!What Can Get You a Ban in Overwatch 2?
We also covered this in a full guide about being banned from Overwatch 2, but here are the main reasons behind any account action:
- cheating of any type (macros, wall-hacks, ESP, aimbots);
- toxicity and anything related to your behavior towards other players;
- win-trading;
- boosting or getting boosted;
- account sharing, for any reason;
- selling or buying accounts;
- throwing games.
All of these actions are also summed up in Blizzard’s EULA, which every players agrees to prior to playing the game. These are the same offenses that can get you banned from Marvel Rivals, being in the exact same genre.
However, the restrictions you can get in Overwatch 2 differ, as such:
- chat silence, for mild offenses, such as flaming and negativity;
- competitive suspension, for leaving competitive games;
- account suspension, for account sharing, toxicity, boosting, throwing;
- permanent ban for cheating, toxicity (if repeated).
Nonetheless, there’s no specific pattern behind the actions. You can get silenced from Overwatch for throwing games, toxicity or griefing others. At the same time, you can also get permanently banned right off the bat, similar to Apex Legends bans, if your chat logs are extreme.
Also, keep in mind that Blizzard is able to review voice chat as well, not just the chat ones. So, if you don’t type in game but are toxic over the microphone, you won’t get away with it.
Last but not least, Blizzard also has quite a bit of a record for banning players for no reason. It still happens every now and then with WoW account bans, and it also happens in Overwatch too.
In that regard, you can get a false ban due to:
- using a VPN (the IP discrepancy itself, or appearing as if you’re getting boosted);
- playing from different locations (same as above);
- using work related software (especially coding software, as it can get falsely flagged by the anti-cheat system);
- getting your account hacked (not really a false ban, but it’s still something you didn’t do on purpose).
With that in mind, let’s move on and see if you can get unbanned from Overwatch 2!

Get Unbanned!Can You Unban an Overwatch 2 Account?
Unbanning an Overwatch 2 account is definitely possible, but it depends on your situation as well.
For example, if you received a ban for extreme toxicity, pertaining to racist remarks, slurs, hate speech or real life threats, you stand no chance to recover your OW 2 account.
On the other hand, if you’ve been banned under the allegation of cheating, boosting, win-trading or mild negativity, you stand a much higher chance of getting your ban overturned.
That said, Blizzard can be quite stubborn at times, as they rely a lot on their alleged findings as opposed to your defense as a player. But, that’s not the end of the road, and in that regard, take a look at one of our happy customers which got their Overwatch ban revoked with our help.
You see, Blizzard has this bad habit of sometimes answering tickets with the classic “This penalty has already been upheld“. And, as even the GM above admitted, no matter how many tickets were sent, the ban kept getting upheld.
But, here’s the catch – the ban was unfair. Despite that, all prior GMs managed to somehow verify it as correctly applied, up until the last GM overturned it and confirmed it was wrongful.
More so, the same GM was kind enough to not only just confirm the unfair ban and overturn it, but even granted 50 Lootboxes for free, as an apology.
Bottom line is, yes, you can unban your OW 2 account, albeit it goes without saying that not every single account action or case can get overturned.
With that in mind, let’s finally see how to submit an Overwatch 2 ban appeal!

And here’s a quick FAQ with some of the most common questions we received about OW 2 bans:
Silence penalties are only applied if you’ve received multiple reports regarding your in-game behavior (toxicity). They’re meant for you to use as a warning to improve your behavior going forward.
The toxicity penalty escalation is as follows:
– 1-3 day silence for your first offense;
– 7-14 day silence for the next one;
– 30-day account suspension for your third one;
– permanently banned account for your last offense.
For cheating or boosting offenses, you will be permanently banned without any prior warnings.
Competitive bans in OW 2 are issued only for leaving games before they’re finished. Although this starts off as a suspension from Comp play, leaving 10 games during an entire season will cause you to get banned from ranked for the entire season.
Furthermore, getting banned from 3 different seasons can lead to getting permanently banned from Competitive Play on that particular account.
Yes, although not all of them. For example, a ban for extreme toxicity involving slurs or discriminatory remarks stands no chance at getting overturned.

Can someone get banned for t bag. Why ad crouch in the game?
Author
Heya! It’s very unlikely that someone can get banned for that. In fact, the only way that could happen is if, for some reason, a bunch of players will constantly report said player throughout multiple games, which would trigger an automated suspension or silence. But, other than that, it’s not against the rules and thus, not bannable.
Can someone get unbanned, when they did nothing to get banned in the first place, but blizzard says they have reviewed relevant evidence for the ban, but you don’t understand what eveidence they have?

Heya and sorry to hear that happened to you. Yes, a false ban (be it an automated false positive from their anti-cheating system or as a result of mass false reporting) should be quite easy to overturn. As for the evidence they claim to have, it’s likely they haven’t actually thoroughly reviewed your case yet, and are just relying on the initial decision.
