If you’re looking to get unbanned from DayZ, you’re in the right place!
Below, we’ll cover a step by step guide on how to submit a DayZ ban appeal in order to recover your banned DayZ account and get back into gaming!
Similar to Rust, DayZ is a quite popular survival online game, with a constant player base to this day.
That being said, also similar to Rust account bans, DayZ too takes rule-breaking seriously, punishing players accused of cheating.
However, there are 3 types of bans you can receive in DayZ. So, let’s go over them first!
What Gets Your Account Banned from DayZ?
Here are the most common reasons for which you can get banned in DayZ:
- cheating and scripting (aimbot, ESP, radar, wall-hacks, macros, automating tools);
- toxicity and poor behavior towards other players;
- stream sniping;
- griefing other players;
- sharing your account with others;
- making use of bugs, exploits and glitches (such as duplicating items).
Nonetheless, here’s the DayZ EULA to which all players agree to upon playing the game.
On the other hand, you can also get banned from DayZ for no reason, following a false player report. Granted, the odds of that happening are not as high.
As for the types of bans, there are 3 of them, namely:
- developer ban (issued by Bohemia Interactive);
- anti-cheat account ban (issued by BattlEye);
- anti-cheat HWID ban (issued by BattlEye).
DayZ Developer Ban
Developer bans are not as frequent. That is, mostly, because they usually come as a result of a player report.
Thus, if you’re doing something that another player considers to be against the rule, they might report you.
In turn, Bohemia Interactive will review the report, and if it was issued correctly, they’ll ban your DayZ account.
DayZ BattlEye Ban
This is the most frequent type of account ban in DayZ.
As opposed to the developer ban, this is an automated ban, issued by the game’s anti-cheating system.
This usually occurs when and if the system detects a cheat on your end.
However, this can also happen as a false positive if, for example, BattlEye detects:
- certain coding software;
- work related automation software, such as AutoIt or AutoHotkey;
- cheats or trainers unrelated to DayZ.
DayZ HWID Ban
DayZ HWID bans are applied by BattlEye as well. Unlike account bans, hardware ID bans are meant to prevent your entire computer to play DayZ. Thus, creating a brand new account is not enough.
However, not all DayZ account bans will receive a HWID ban. But, there’s no particular trigger behind them.
Although originally HWID bans were designed for repeat offenders only, they can just as well be applied from the very first offense in DayZ, similarly to HWID bans for Apex Legends.
And, unlike a Valorant HWID ban, the DayZ one does not expire and is permanent.
Unlike account bans, a DayZ HWID ban is mostly issued as a result of BattlEye detecting a cheat on your computer.
Having said that, let’s now see how you can get unbanned from DayZ, regardless of the ban you received!
How to Get Unbanned from DayZ
There are 2 different methods to submit a DayZ ban appeal, which we’ll detail below.

For BattlEye global account and HWID bans, you must submit a BattlEye ban appeal.
Here’s how to do that:
- go to the BattlEye Support page here;
- choose “Ban appeals” for the first field;
- input your name, account email address and subject;
- write your DayZ ban appeal.
After that’s done, simply press “Submit” and your ban appeal will go BattlEye. Once they have an answer for you, they will reply to you via email, so make sure to keep an eye on it (and its Spam / Junk folder).
